Destination Link Checker
A pin’s destination link is the only thing that earns anything. Check it before publishing: protocol, tracking parameters, length, and whether it looks like a link Pinterest will accept.

What Pinterest accepts
A full http or https URL. Links without a protocol are rejected or silently dropped, and links to private or login-walled pages will fail for every visitor. The checker normalises the protocol so the version you paste is the version that works.
Tracking parameters
UTM parameters are worth keeping if you actually read the analytics — otherwise they make the link long and can break caching. The checker lists them so you can decide, rather than stripping them silently.
Link length
There is a 2048-character ceiling, but anything past about 100 characters is unwieldy and more likely to be truncated when copied. Short, readable paths also look more trustworthy in a pin.
How to use Destination Link Checker
- Paste the link you plan to use.
- Fix anything flagged in red.
- Copy the cleaned version into the pin.
Destination Link Checker FAQ
Can I link to my homepage?
You can, but a specific article converts far better than a homepage.
Do tracking parameters hurt?
No, as long as they are valid. They just make the link longer.
What about link shorteners?
Pinterest works with them, but they hide the destination and some users distrust them.
